Artist's Comments

:meditate: It's been a while since I did any pixal art, and I wanted a new avatar. Sadly, dA isn't awesome enough to allow us to have 100x100px avatars, so I figure I'd upload the magnified full version here as well.

:snowflake: This is my character Melody, who features in a few other pictures in my gallery. She was going to be clothed, but they hid too much of the body definition, so I was dissatisfied with how the whole image looked. I tried making her eyes the same style as I usual draw them, except the image was then difficult to recognise at 100% zoom. So I went with some more conventional eyes.

:snowflake: The scenery and angle + pose is roughly taken from one of the last scenes from Innocent Venus, the anime (which I am now in love with). The main reason I've uploaded a 500% zoom version is so that people can see how much dithering and detail I've put into this (as it doesn't really show up on the 100% normal zoom).

:snowflake: For those who enjoy pixel art, I hope this meets with satisfaction ^^

Thanks, although I don't see how O.o It's just hair, and in anime style too, which usually hangs close to the eyes.

I do not feel that you should have a second option here.

Wow, nice dithering! In the future you might do something with those large areas of flat color, such as the water(?) and her lower back. But her face and shoulder is especially well done!

Thank you ^.^

Large plain areas can be used to draw attention to areas of detail ;D If I added too much then the attention wouldn't be around her face as much ^^
