Artist's Comments So I've finished colouring her, now I just need to decide exactly how I'm going to do the background. Don't worry, I have a few ideas already. I'll pencil something in and then ink it. Once that's done you'll get to see it. This girl (yet to be named) suffers from delusions in which she is a successful popstar. The twist is, she was. She successfully escaped the facility in which she was being held on life support, her brain stimulated and trawled for pop tunes. Having successfully eluded the sentry guard robots of the building by hiding in the steam clouds of broken life support systems, she was able to make her escape. She now wanders the streets of a city only mildly different from when she left it. Billboards with her face on, at performances and photoshoots she can remember but never physically attended, light up the buildings around her. She stumbles through the night time streets, dressed only in the hospital-esque smock she woke up in, cold and alone. Staring at the billboards, she's suddenly taken back to the performances they illustrate, and begins to sing, the drab world around her falling back as the spotlights come on and the crowd cheers. This is where she's supposed to be. |
